In heart of the central Italy, halfway from the Apennines to the sea, the Lepini mountains are stretched. Quiet measured rhythms which characterize life of this territory, coexist without disagreements with fruits of modern civilization. .

Word «Lepini» which individualizes a mountain chain, occurs from Latin “lapis”, that is a stone. This mountain chain makes a part of a calcareous relief of region Latium. It lasts from the Albanian hills (Colli Albani) to Ausoni mountains (Monti Ausoni), and from the geological point of view is connected directly with the Apennines chain.

The especial geological structure and the neighbourhood with sea, promoted the big variety of a microclimate which has defined variety of vegetation.

Lepini mountains represent a unique example of a karst in the central Italy, the geological phenomenon typical for the north of Italy.

Lepini mountains nevertheless are not only the nature, but also culture, history and tradition.

In small towns and villages with narrow streets it is a lot of churches and monuments which grasp and fascinate at the same time. All of them were born during different epoch: some of them were issued before Christ, others – in the Middle Ages. Everywhere you are met by simple and hospitable people.

It is necessary to visit various museums in which the prehistoric rests are stored. It is Ancient Norba (Antica Norba), Sezze, Artena. Then, the rests of ancient Roman buildings are scattered on open spaces.
